
Pompano Beach, FL (March 10, 2025) – A woman from Staten Island lost her life in a traffic accident in Pompano Beach. Multiple responders were sent to the scene on Friday, March 7, at approximately 9:00 p.m. The wreck occurred at the intersection of East Atlantic Boulevard and Pompano Beach Boulevard, according to a release from the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
A man also suffered critical injuries in the collision. Responders were sent to the scene, where they found the couple seriously injured after being hit by a car. The vehicle then fled the scene without rendering aid. The suspect was later apprehended and arrested. Police say the suspect was operating a 2019 Toyota Tacoma headed north on Pompano Beach Boulevard, trying to turn left onto East Atlantic Boulevard. Simultaneously, the victims were walking in the crosswalk as they crossed East Atlantic Boulevard. The driver, identified as Ashley Bowman, 38, struck both victims as they were crossing the road. She faces several charges, including DUI, DUI causing serious injury, failing to stop at the scene of a crash involving death and failing to stop at the scene of a crash causing serious injury. Police in Pompano Beach continue to investigate the incident.
