Marion Co., FL (April 21, 2025) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash in Summerfield, Marion County, on April 18. Responders were sent to the scene in the 15200 block of South US 441 at approximately 1:19 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports the victim was taken to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital from the scene. The male victim lost his life at the hospital due to the extent of his injuries. Officials said a Chevrolet Silverado hauling a trailer was carrying items such as buckets, concrete blocks, and a generator. The vehicle was headed south in the outside lane of US 441 while the pedestrian, who was pushing a shopping cart, was headed south near the right side of the road. For unknown reasons, the front right side of the pickup struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was then thrown into the grassy shoulder on the west side of the road. Police in Marion County continue to investigate the details of the crash.
We want to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim.
