Florida Motorcycle Accidents
Florida’s warm climate and vibrant motorcycle culture make it a popular place for riders year-round. Unfortunately, this also contributes to a high number of motorcycle accidents throughout the state.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly 600 lives were lost in motorcycle accidents in Florida in 2022 alone, out of over 10,000 crashes reported that year. These numbers placed Florida at the top of the list for motorcycle-related fatalities in the entire United States.
The causes of these tragedies often mirror those of other motor vehicle accidents—driver negligence, intoxication, fatigue, and distracted driving all play a significant role. Texting while driving or failing to properly yield to motorcycles can result in devastating, irreversible consequences. In fact, more than 94% of traffic collisions in the U.S. are attributed to human error, most of it preventable.
Losing a loved one in a motorcycle crash is an unimaginable pain. The grief is compounded by sudden financial and emotional burdens, from funeral expenses and medical bills to the loss of companionship and support.
