Inverness, FL (March 29, 2025) – A teenager from Citrus Springs lost her life in a near head-on crash that occurred on Wednesday, March 26, in Inverness. Information from the Florida Highway Patrol shows a 41-year-old man was headed east on Stage Coach Trail in a Toyota Rav 4 at approximately 10:20 p.m. while a 17-year-old Lecanto resident was headed west on the same road in a Honda Civic. Police say the man from Inverness negotiated a curve with difficulty on the road just west of South Trail 9. The Toyota reportedly entered the south shoulder of the road, overcorrected back across the travel lanes, and collided, nearly head-on, with the Honda Civic.
An 18-year-old female inside the Civic lost her life at the scene. The 17-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The other driver involved suffered minor injuries. Police in Inverness continue to investigate the details of the incident.
We want to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this grieving time. We also hope for the full recovery of the injured victim.
Florida Auto Accidents
Auto collisions occur in the state of Florida over 1,000 times per day. These wrecks occur under countless circumstances, though driver negligence is most often to blame. Sadly, thousands of individuals are injured in Florida auto accidents per year. Across the nation, more than 3 million people are hurt yearly in car crashes. According to information provided by the NTHSA, 9 out of 10 reported wrecks are caused by negligence.
Those who are injured in auto accidents often face severe damages in the aftermath. Crash victims usually end up with severe injuries that land them in the hospital for prolonged periods. These injuries can cost tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills, vehicle repairs, and more. Facing problems like these on your own can feel extremely overwhelming if you were recently injured in an accident.
Working with a car crash lawyer can help you and your family a great deal, especially if you believe a negligent driver is to blame. A car accident attorney can help you file a personal injury claim for financial compensation that can help you pay for outstanding medical bills, costly vehicle repairs or replacement, and lost wages.
