Broward, FL (January 9, 2025) – One driver lost their life, and another suffered injuries in a wrong-way collision in Broward. Police say the wreck happened on the Florida Turnpike at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 9. Sources say the wreck occurred near Red Road when a 55-year-old woman driving a 2010 grey Honda Element SUV was traveling the wrong way on the Turnpike. A 23-year-old man operating a 2016 Honda Civic was unable to avoid a crash with the woman, and the two vehicles collided head-on. The Element then struck a concrete barrier and overturned, while the Civic spun before stopping. The 23-year-old man lost his life in the crash. He was a resident of Cutler Bay. The woman, a Hialeah resident, suffered severe injuries, according to reports. Police in Broward continue to investigate.
