St. Lucie Co., FL (April 2, 2025) –A 44-year-old man from Miami lost his life after a traffic accident in St. Lucie County. Reports show the accident took place between three vehicles near Port St. Lucie Boulevard on the Florida Turnpike.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at approximately 11:23 p.m. when the Miami man was operating a semi-truck with a tandem trailer in tow. He was headed north in the inside lane when he swerved to avoid debris in the roadway, causing him to strike the left rear of a second semi-truck headed north. The man from Miami lost control, causing his vehicle to rotate counter-clockwise and slide sideways. A Tesla headed north was behind the man’s semi when it tried to swerve to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful. The Tesla’s front left side collided with the trailer’s right rear. The Miami man lost his life at the scene, according to reports. The driver of the Tesla was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce with non-critical injuries. Police in St. Lucie County continue to investigate.
