Florida Traffic Accidents
Over 400,000 traffic accidents are reported in Florida per year, placing it among the top three states in the nation with the most annual auto accidents. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people are hurt in these wrecks while thousands more end up losing their lives. Some of the most common reasons traffic collisions occur in the Sunshine State involve driver negligence.
Throughout the country, roughly 6 million traffic accidents are reported yearly. These incidents cause approximately 3 million people to sustain injuries while more than 40,000 lose their lives. Driver distraction is the main contributor to the majority of fatal crashes, causing over 70% of the national accident fatality rate.
In the last ten years, texting and driving has become a major concern, with millions of people choosing to look at their phones instead of the roadway causing injurious or even fatal accidents. These dangerous behaviors risk the lives of countless individuals, and those who cause these types of crashes need to be held accountable.
