Orlando, FL (November 26, 2024) – A fatal traffic collision happened in Orlando on November 25. At approximately 6:10 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident that occurred between a Chevrolet Equinox and a semi-truck on State Road 50. Responders were seen rendering aid at the crash site located near Sabal Palm Drive. Preliminary reports show the semi-truck, operated by a 38-year-old man from Geneva, was headed north on Sabal Palm Drive when it attempted to turn left onto westbound State Road 50. The truck entered the path of the Equinox, which was headed east on SR-50 in the inside lane. Sources said the Equinox collided with the left side of the trailer.
The driver of the Equinox, a 54-year-old man from Orlando, was transported to Waterford Lakes Emergency Room, where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the semi-truck sustained no injuries and stayed at the crash scene. Police in Orlando continue to investigate the details of the crash.
