Ocala, FL (December 14, 2024) – Two people were sent to the hospital after a four-car accident in Ocala on Saturday, December 14. At approximately 11:15 a.m., the incident occurred on State Road 200 near 60th Street. Police who worked at the scene reported a Cehvy Silverado pickup truck was headed north on SW 60th Street, attempting to turn left onto SR-200. A Mazda, operated by a woman, was headed east on SR-200. The two vehicles collided at the intersection under circumstances that remain unclear at this time. The Mazda rolled and struck two other vehicles, a Mercedes SUV and a Hyundai Sonata. Both were in turning lanes on the opposite side of the road, police said.
Reports from police show that the Mazda reportedly continued to overturn before eventually coming to a stop in the middle of the eastbound lanes. Authorities say the female driver of the Mazda and the male driver of the Chevy were transported to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital for treatment. Both sustained serious injuries, according to reports. Police in Ocala continue to investigate the crash.
We hope for the full recovery of those with injuries.
