Florida Traffic Accidents
Vehicle travel remains one of the most common ways people get around in the United States, and motor vehicles have evolved significantly since they first appeared in 1886. While cars have seen continuous improvement, particularly in safety features, the reality is that accidents are still inevitable, and no amount of technology can completely eliminate the risks drivers face while traveling.
In the state of Florida, distracted driving is a leading cause of traffic accidents. In 2023, over 368,000 accidents occurred statewide, with a substantial portion of those in Miami-Dade County. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of people suffer injuries in Florida crashes yearly. Despite improvements, the fatality rate in Florida remains high, ranking the state third in the U.S. for traffic-related deaths.
When accidents occur, especially those caused by driver negligence, injured victims may have the right to pursue compensation. This can cover medical costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
