Florida Traffic Accidents
Traffic collisions occur in Florida at an alarming rate. Daily, more than 1,000 collisions are reported throughout the state. In the United States today, over 220 million individuals travel in some type of vehicle every day. In Florida alone, more than 15 million drivers travel on state roadways daily.
Every day, approximately 1% of drivers become involved in Florida auto accidents. Unfortunately, most of these collisions are caused by driver negligence. Information provided by the NHTSA shows that more than 94% of reported traffic accidents in the United States are caused by driver negligence. Negligent driving can be displayed in countless ways; however, intoxication, speeding, fatigue, and distraction are the most common.
For context, over 6 million traffic accidents are reported across the country per year, most of which are caused by negligent driving. Looking at your phone for five seconds while traveling at 55 miles per hour is equal to traveling the length of a football field with a blindfold on. This is extremely dangerous and can cause severe or even fatal injuries for you or someone else on the road.
