
Jacksonville, FL (October 7, 2024) – A wrong-way crash happened in Jacksonville on Sunday morning, October 6, that took two lives and injured three others. The Florida Highway Patrol reports the incident took place when a 25-year-old woman from Jacksonville with four children in the vehicle was headed south on I-95. The group was traveling near Pecan Park Road when the front of their vehicle was involved in a head-on crash with another SUV.
The woman and a 3-year-old girl lost their lives in the accident. Three children suffered injuries, including a 5-year-old girl, a 2-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old boy. The driver of the other SUV was identified as a 42-year-old man from Jacksonville who suffered serious injuries. All northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours, causing significant delays in traffic. Police in Jacksonville continue to investigate the incident.
