Florida Traffic Collisions
Florida car accidents happen frequently. Florida is among the top three states in the US with the most yearly auto collisions. On average, the Sunshine State sees over 400,000 traffic collisions per year. In 2022, over 250,000 people suffered injuries, and over 3,200 lost their lives in Florida car wrecks that same year.
Unfortunately, the main cause of most of these accidents is driver negligence. Negligent driving is behind over 94% of reported car wrecks in the United States, according to information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In Florida alone, distracted driving is behind over 12% of reported traffic collisions, while running red lights, speeding, and failure to yield are behind over 80-90% of traffic accidents overall.
