Davie, FL (January 26, 2025) – A teenager lost his life and six others were injured in a collision in Davie on Saturday morning, January 24. Police say the incident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. on State Route 84 when an Audi S5 and a Honda Accord collided near University Drive. A man from Plantation, age 21, was operating the Audi, which had a 19-year-old man from Davie inside as well as another 19-year-old from Weston and a 23-year-old man from Hallandale Beach. Inside the Honda, a 24-year-old was driving, accompanied by a man from Tamarac, age 24, and a 25-year-old Fort Lauderdale man.
Reports show the right side of the Audi and the left side fo the Honda were involved in a side-sweeping crash. The Audi was forced into the left shoulder where it collided with the concrete barrier before it lost control and entered the westbound highway lanes, spun out, and collided with a guardrail on the right side. It then entered the grassy shoulder and collided with a metal fence. The Honda came to a controlled stop on the right shoulder, according to information from a release. The 19-year-old man from Davie lost his life in the accident after being ejected from the Audi. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Davie Fire Rescue. All other involved individuals suffered injuries. Police in Davie continue to investigate the details of the accident.
