Florida Car Crashes
Traffic accidents are all too common in Florida, with over 1,000 reported daily across the state. Every day, more than 220 million people drive in the United States, and in Florida, more than 15 million people hit the road. On average, about 1% of Florida’s drivers will be involved in a car crash each day, and the majority of these accidents are the result of driver negligence. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), over 94% of traffic accidents in the U.S. are caused by some form of driver error.
Negligent driving can take many forms, but the most frequent culprits are distraction, intoxication, speeding, and fatigue. For instance, looking at your phone for just five seconds while driving at 55 miles per hour is the same as driving the length of a football field with your eyes closed. This kind of behavior can result in serious or even fatal accidents for everyone involved.
Being involved in a traffic accident can be a life-altering experience. If you or a loved one has been hurt in a crash caused by a negligent driver, it’s important to focus on healing, not financial strain. After such an incident, the emotional, physical, and financial toll can feel overwhelming for both you and your family.
