Coconut Creek, FL (February 25, 2025) – A deadly collision occurred in Coconut Creek on Tuesday, February 25. At approximately 2:00 a.m., the wreck took place in the southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike near the Coconut Creek Parkway.
Police informed that an SUV collided with a semi-truck parked in the emergency lane. The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital where he later lost his life. The rear of the 18-wheeler sustained significant damage in the crash. At this time, the cause of the collision is being investigated by area authorities. All southbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed for quite some time while responders worked at the scene. The victim has not been identified at this time. Law enforcement authorities are investigating the incident.
