Cocoa, FL (March 30, 2025) – Three people lost their lives and two others suffered injuries in a collision in Cocoa on Friday morning, March 28. Reports show a Mercedes-Benz that was fleeing police collided with two vehicles parked on the shoulder of an exit ramp on Interstate 95, near King Street. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says the crash occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m.
A man from Sebastian, age 41, was operating the Mercedes with three passengers, identified as two women and a man, headed north on the interstate while actively fleeing from FHP. Police say the Mercedes exited the interstate and collided with a 2005 Ford F-650 tow truck and a 2011 Ford F-750 tow truck, both of which were unoccupied and parked on the shoulder. A man from Pam Bay, age 39, was underneath one of the trucks at the time of the accident. The three passengers in the Mercedes lost their lives in the accident. They were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was transported by helicopter to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center. The man from Sebastian suffered critical injuries, while the man from Palm Bay was seriously hurt. Police in Cocoa continue to investigate the incident.
We want to offer our sincere sympathies to the family members of the deceased victims.
Florida Traffic Collisions
Florida sees more auto accidents than most other states in the nation. Yearly, the Sunshine State reports more than 400,000 auto accidents. These crashes often cause injuries, with more than 150,000 people hurt per year. Sadly, over 3,000 people are killed annually in Florida traffic accidents.
Suffering serious injuries in an auto accident is extremely overwhelming. If you were recently hurt in an accident, you may be stuck in the hospital for a prolonged period, where you must undergo invasive and expensive medical care. The extent of your injuries may keep you from working and earning a living, which can be extremely stressful for you and your family.
A car crash attorney can help you file a personal injury claim for financial compensation after you were injured in an auto accident. Especially if you believe your crash was caused by negligence, you may be eligible to collect financial compensation for lost wages, vehicle repairs, medical bills, and more.
Losing someone you love in a fatal crash is the only thing worse than being hurt in one yourself. A wrongful death attorney can help you file a wrongful death claim for funeral costs and more.
