Clay County, FL (September 28, 2024) – One person lost their life and eight others suffered injuries in a multi-car wreck on Saturday morning, September 28. The fatal accident occurred in Keystone Heights, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. at County Road 352 on State Road 21. Three vehicles were involved, including a black pickup truck, a white sedan, and a white minivan. Police say the pickup was headed south on SR-21 while the sedan was heading north. The van was waiting to turn onto SR-21 in the parking lot of a nearby gas station. The truck turned left into the path of the sedan, causing it to strike the van in the parking lot.
A passenger inside the van, age 31, was taken to an area hospital, where he later lost his life. Eight others suffered injuries, including three children. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
