West Palm Beach, FL (November 30, 2024) – Early on Thursday, November 28, a traffic accident claimed the life of an elderly man in West Palm Beach. The accident occurred on Interstate 95 near Southern Boulevard when a Volkswagen was traveling the wrong way in the northbound lane. Reports show a 20-year-old man from Sunrise was headed south in the northbound lane when it crashed head-on with a Toyota operated by an 81-year-old man. The Toyota overturned and stopped between the center and outside lanes while the Volkswagen collided with a concrete wall.
The elderly driver of the Toyota lost his life at the scene, and the Volkswagen’s driver sustained critical injuries. Five lanes of the interstate were blocked for several hours while responders worked at the scene. Police in West Palm Beach continue to investigate the incident.
