Florida Auto Accidents
Car accidents are an all-too-common occurrence in Florida. In fact, the Sunshine State ranks among the top three states in the U.S. for the highest number of auto collisions each year. On average, Florida sees over 400,000 traffic accidents annually. In 2022 alone, more than 250,000 people were injured, and over 3,200 lives were lost due to traffic-related incidents across the state.
The primary cause of these devastating collisions? Driver negligence. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over 94% of car crashes nationwide are caused by human error. In Florida, distracted driving alone accounts for over 12% of reported accidents. Additional negligent behaviors such as speeding, running red lights, and failure to yield contribute to 80–90% of all traffic crashes in the state.
