West Palm Beach, FL (December 7, 2024) – A man identified as 44-year-old Drew Robert Winters lost his life in a pedestrian collision in West Palm Beach on Friday, December 6. At approximately 11:00 p.m., the incident was reported to police by a 911 caller. They reported an unconscious man lying in the road in the 2700 block of 45th Street just west of I-95.
Police said Winters was pronounced deceased at the scene. Reports concerning the crash show Winters was crossing 45th Street, headed south, when he was struck by a silver vehicle that fled the scene after the crash. Police say the wreck propelled Winters into the westbound travel lane. Two westbound lanes were closed for approximately four hours while investigators worked in the area. Investigations into the circumstances of the accident continue.
