
Volusia Co., FL (January 28, 2025) – A woman lost her life on Saturday, January 25, after she was struck by a vehicle while walking on the sidewalk. The other individual walking with the woman, her husband, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Officers report that traffic homicide investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the accident.
The New Smyrna Beach Police Department reported that they responded to the scene on Saturday afternoon at 4 Causeway North near the Riverwalk condominiums. When they arrived, fire rescue personnel were providing medical aid to the woman. Police say the woman and her husband were walking on the sidewalk when they were both struck by a westbound vehicle. The woman, who has not been identified, lost her life at the scene. Police in Volusia County continue to investigate the details of the accident.
