Florida Traffic Collisions
Auto accidents can occur for any reason at any time. The United States sees more than 6 million traffic accidents reported per year. Approximately 28% of these accidents end in injuries for at least one involved person. Approximately 2 million people are hurt per year in car wrecks across the nation, while over 40,000 people end up losing their lives due to the extent of their injuries.
Florida sees more car accidents than almost any other state in the nation. Only Texas and California see similar numbers related to auto accidents. Being hurt in a crash is never easy, and can land victims in the hospital for prolonged periods where they deal with painful injuries and expensive medical bills. On average, recovering from a serious auto accident injury can cost tens of thousands of dollars. This can be too much for anyone to cover on their own, especially in a sudden and unexpected situation like a car accident.
Auto accidents are often caused by driver negligence, which is becoming increasingly common among American drivers today. On average, over 90% of car crashes in the US are caused by negligent drivers. Some of the most common types of driver negligence include:
- Intoxication: 30% of fatal crashes
- Distracted driving: 25-30% of crashes
- Speeding: 30% of fatal crashes
If you or someone you love were recently hurt in a traffic accident caused by negligence, you may be entitled to financial compensation for the pain and suffering you have endured. Your injuries may likely cost you a fortune in medical bills, vehicle repairs, and lost wages. A car crash lawyer can help you file a personal injury claim for financial compensation so you can get your life back on track as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
