Florida Traffic Accidents
Every year, the Sunshine State sees over 400,000 auto accidents that cause around 150,000 people to sustain injuries. Sadly, approximately 3,000 people lose their lives per year in car wrecks in Florida. The main cause of these accidents is driver negligence, specifically intoxication, speeding, and distraction.
Throughout the country, more than 6 million auto accidents happen each year that injure around 3 million people. Motorcycles are involved in approximately 14% of all these accidents. Sadly, tens of thousands of people lose their lives in these collisions annually. Distractions such as texting and driving, talking on the phone, talking to other people in the car, and fidgeting with the radio or GPS can contribute significantly to causing auto collisions.
In the past decade, texting and driving have become a significant issue, with millions of drivers choosing to use their phones while behind the wheel. Over half of motorcycle accidents are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. This reckless behavior puts countless lives at risk, and those who cause accidents due to texting should be held accountable.
