Osceola Co., FL (February 3, 2025) – A woman from Winter Haven lost her life in a four-car crash in Osceola County on Friday morning, January 31. Several other people were hurt in the accident that occurred on Nova Road approximately a mile north of the Deer Park Road intersection. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene just after 7:30 a.m. Reports show three vehicles were headed north near Maplehead Road when a Chevy Silverado operated by a man from New York tried to pass two other vehicles in front of him. The man, for reasons still under police investigation, collided with a Hyundai Elantra occupied by a male driver and a female passenger. The two vehicles crashed, causing the Elantra to veer into the northbound lane where it struck a Toyota Corolla and a Lexus ES.
The female passenger inside the Elantra lost her life due to her injuries. The driver of the Elantra was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Nova Road was closed for several hours while police and paramedics worked at the scene. Police continue to investigate the details of the accident.
We want to offer our sincere condolences to the deceased victim’s family at this time.
