Osceola Co., FL (November 24, 2024) – A woman lost her life, and three others, including a 9-year-old girl, suffered injuries when their vehicle was struck by an SUV on Friday evening, November 22. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike in Osceola County at approximately 5:53 p.m.
Records from the police show the 9-year-old girl and a 68-year-old woman were riding in a sedan operated by a 40-year-old woman, all of whom are from Miami. They were traveling in an outside lane when a 19-year-old female from Orlando traveled into the inside shoulder of the road, overcorrected right and struck the left side of the sedan. The sedan was forced off of the road and onto the right shoulder, where it struck a tree, police said. The 68-year-old woman from Miami was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 9-year-old girl suffered critical injuries, while the 40-year-old driver suffered serious injuries. The 19-year-old girl operating the other vehicle was not hurt in the accident. Police in Osceola County are still investigating.
We want to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim. We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.
