
Orange Co, FL. (March 11, 2025) – On March 9, a woman lost her life and others were hurt in a car crash in Orange County. Reports show the wreck occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of Sand Lake Road and Winegard Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a Honda Odyssey minivan was stopped at the red light at Sand Lake Road when it was rear-ended by a BMW X3. The BMW occupants then fled the scene on foot. Orange County Sheriff’s Office Deputies later apprehended one of the occupants. The man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police are currently attempting to determine who the driver was at the time of th e collision. Both the driver and passenger inside the Odyssey were taken to ORMC by ambulance. The driver, identified as a woman from Orlando, age 47, was pronounced deceased due to the extent of her injuries. The passenger suffered serious injuries in the accident. Police continue to investigate the incident.
