
Lake Co., FL (February 23, 2025) – The southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike were closed on Saturday afternoon, February 22, after a seven-vehicle accident. Multiple responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash that involved a Western Star semi-truck, a Chevrolet Suburban, a Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda Civic V6, Mazda CX-9, and a marked patrol vehicle.
According to information provided by the Florida Highway Patrol, several individuals suffered injuries in the accident. The injured victims were transported to Orlando Health, Orlando Regional Medical Center, and South Lake Hospital. The trooper involved in the collision did not sustain any injuries. Lanes were closed at North Hancock Road with traffic delayed back to milepost 283, according to reports. Police in Lake County continue to investigate the wreck to determine its cause.
