Florida Semi-Truck Accidents
Over 11 million semi-trucks transport heavy, hazardous loads across US roadways every year. When passenger vehicles become involved in traffic accidents with semis, the chance of death occurring for one or more people involved is approximately ten times higher than in a crash involving two passenger vehicles. This information was gathered from Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Semi-truck crashes are some of the most devastating traffic accidents that can occur. On average, tractor-trailers are approximately 20 to 30 times larger than passenger vehicles. When a small passenger car and a semi-truck collide, the consequences can be devastating, especially for those inside the smaller vehicle. Being hurt in a serious crash can send victims to the hospital, where they must undergo medical care that is expensive and invasive. Fully healing from severe crash injuries can take weeks, months, or even longer.
