
Gainesville, FL (March 7, 2025) – A student from the University of Florida, age 21, lost their life due to a scooter collision that occurred earlier this week near the Southwest Recreation Center on campus.
Information provided by the Gainesville Polic Department shows that at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, a gray mustang was traveling east on Hull Road when it turned left into a parking lot. At the same time, the scooter was traveling west on Hull Road. Both vehicles crashed, ejecting the scooter rider. The driver, identified as Nyla Holland, was taken to an area medical center, where she later lost her life. Police in Gainesville continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
