Auto accidents can happen in the blink of an eye and change the lives of those involved forever. Florida is one of the most dangerous states when it comes to car accidents, with over 400,000 reported wrecks per year. Hundreds of thousands of people sustain injuries in these collisions while thousands more end up losing their lives. Unfortunately, a large percentage of reported traffic collisions in the Sunshine State are caused by driver negligence.
The lives of crash victims are often significantly impacted by these incidents. Due to the many damages that usually result from auto accidents, victims usually have their entire lives upended. Damages like costly medical bills, expensive vehicle repairs, and lost wages can add up, causing serious financial strain. Depending on the cause of an accident, crash victims may be able to file personal injury claims that can help them financially recover.
Driver negligence is a serious problem in the US and throughout the state of Florida. Distracted driving is behind over 400,000 reported auto accidents per year in the US. According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), a crash occurs every 44 seconds in Florida, and one in seven involves a distracted driver.
