Chiefland, FL (October 16, 2024) – A fatal traffic accident occurred in Levy County on Tuesday morning, October 15. At approximately 6:50 a.m., the accident happened on US Highway 19 when a vehicle collided with a semi-truck. Reports show that the semi-truck was attempting to back into the Cash and Carry Pole Barns when a 68-year-old man from Fanning Springs collided with the trailer of the truck. The man, who has not been identified at this time, lost his life at the scene. The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while police investigated the scene.
